Leon Swanson and David Tait Jr. discovered the shocking secret after Leon received a DNA testing kit as a present from a granddaughter last year. Both men were born on the same day in January 1956 at the Norway House Indian Hospital. Leon Swanson, a member of the Misipawistik Cree Nation, was raised by the Tait family, while David Tait Jr., who belongs to the Norway House Cree Nation, was raised by Leon's biological family. The DNA test results confirmed their suspicions, and the families quickly sought answers. After a long and arduous process, they finally received a formal apology from the Manitoba government on Friday, December 18th, 2020.
