Embarrassing Hygiene Issues and How to Avoid Them

No one wants to be the person known for their hygiene issues. If you find yourself struggling with any of these issues, you are not alone. It may feel embarrassing, but most hygiene issues have relatively simple solutions. With some quick adjustments to how you take care of yourself, you can reduce these issues entirely.

Excessive Sweating

Everyone vividly remembers their uncomfortable, sweaty teen years. However, if you’re finding that you continue to have an issue with excessive sweating as an adult, don’t worry. Excess sweating is a common issue many people face. It can be embarrassing, but there are steps to deal with the issue. If you’re finding regular antiperspirants aren’t holding up, you can speak to a doctor about prescription strength antiperspirants. You can also try wearing more breathable fabrics made from natural fibers.

Bad Breath

Bad breath is another common, but embarrassing, hygiene issue. Garlic and onions are the most common culprits for bad breath. If people continue to let you know that this is something you struggle with, the solution is simple. Good oral hygiene fixes bad breath. However, there are some steps in this good oral hygiene routine that you might not include in yours. Make sure you don’t forget to clean your tongue regularly. The tongue stores a lot of the bacteria in the mouth, and without regular cleaning, can cause your breath to stink. Invest in mouthwash and gum as well, and you’ll be good to go.

Smelly Feet

This one isn’t immediately noticeable if you’re wearing shoes, but the second they come off, people notice. Smelly feet are uncomfortable and embarrassing, but easily treated. The best thing to do to avoid this issue is to wash your feet regularly, and keep them dry. Try not to wear the same pair of shoes every day, and change socks daily as well. If you find you still struggle, you can apply antiperspirant to your feet or speak to your doctor about medicated insoles. This issue is something many people struggle with, and you shouldn’t feel embarrassed about seeking help. With just a few adjustments, your smelly feet can be a thing of the past.

Having issues with your personal hygiene can be incredibly embarrassing. It may feel as though you’re doing everything right, but you still can’t get past them. Chances are, you’ve just missed one or two simple steps that, if implemented, will get rid of these problems. If you still find yourself struggling, see a doctor. There’s no shame in getting help.
