A man has been charged with the murder of three surfers in Mexico, after allegedly confessing to his girlfriend, a court has heard. Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and their US friend Jack Carter Rhoad disappeared last month while surfing in Mexico. According to reports, Diego Cruz Alonso allegedly confessed to his girlfriend that he was involved in the murder of the surfers. The court was told that Alonso told his girlfriend details of the crime, including how the victims were beaten and stabbed before being thrown into a river. The bodies of the three surfers were found on a riverbank near the area where they were last seen in the town of Zihuatanejo. Investigations into their deaths are still ongoing, but authorities have said that the motive for their murder was robbery. The court also heard that Alonso and another suspect, Miguel Angel Alvarez, were arrested after their car was found with items that belonged to the victims, including a camera and a surfboard.
