From acts of bravery to accomplishments in the field, our servicemen and women continue to inspire us all. Let's take a look at some of the highlights from the week of Nov. 18. 1. United States Air Force celebrates its 72nd Birthday On Nov. 18, the United States Air Force celebrated its 72nd birthday. Established in 1947, the U.S. Air Force has played a vital role in protecting the skies and advancing aerospace technology. We salute all the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. Air Force. 2. Navy SEALs honored for heroic actions A group of Navy SEALs received the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V" for their heroic actions during a rescue mission in Afghanistan. These brave individuals risked their lives to save a fellow soldier and displayed exceptional courage under fire. We express our gratitude and admiration for their selfless service. 3. Army veteran recounts his journey Gary Stevens, an Army veteran, shared his inspiring story of overcoming adversity and finding purpose after his military service. Stevens, who now works as a counselor for veterans, emphasized the importance of mental health support for those transitioning back to civilian life. His story serves as a reminder of the resilience and strength of our military community. 4. National Guard supports wildfire response efforts The National Guard has been instrumental in supporting wildfire response efforts in California.
