A rare celestial event recently delighted stargazers in Derbyshire, as they caught a glimpse of the "once in a lifetime" Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks passing by the Earth. This particular comet only graces our skies once every 71 years, making its viewing a truly special event. One lucky observer in Derbyshire was able to capture the stunning spectacle from the comfort of his garage rooftop. The comet, named after its discoverers Jean-Louis Pons and William Robert Brooks, made its closest approach to Earth on April 1, 2021. Its appearance was eagerly anticipated by astronomers and enthusiasts alike, as it offered a rare opportunity to witness a cosmic phenomenon. The sighting occurred in Derbyshire, a county in the East Midlands region of England, where Paul Mason managed to snap a breathtaking photograph of the comet. From his garage rooftop, Mason captured an image that showcased the comet's distinct green hue and its elongated tail, stretching across the night sky. This coma, along with the solar wind, pushes the comet's dust and gas away from the Sun, forming a glowing tail that points away from
