3 Staycation Ideas for the Rest of This Summer

2020 has been one crazy year so far. If you're like most people, you're probably dying for a vacation right about now. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has made many people uneasy about taking a vacation. That doesn't mean you can't have fun this summer though. There are some great activities you can do while having a staycation to bring the fun home this summer.

Try an Experience Online

If there are things you want to do or places you want to see but can't due to travel or financial restrictions, you might be in luck. Thanks to the internet and teleconferencing technology you can participate in many online experiences. You can find opportunities to take cooking classes, tour different cities, and take dance classes, just to name a few. Airbnb Experiences has a lot of activities you can do online if you're looking for ideas of things to do. Take a look and see what you can find. It'll probably be more affordable and accessible than being there in person.

Go Camping in the Backyard

Do you love spending time in nature? Camping in your backyard can be a great chance to get in tune with your inner outdoorsman. You can pitch your tent on your lawn, or if the weather's nice, skip the tent altogether and just roll out your sleeping bag. If you have a grill or a fire pit you can cook your dinner outside and follow it up with some s'mores. Once the sun goes down, study the night sky and see if you can identify different constellations. If you're extra lucky you might even see a shooting star.

Pamper Yourself

If you just need some good quality time for yourself, take a day to just focus on yourself. Taking time to pamper yourself can leave you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the next challenge that comes your way. Try doing some light exercise, such as yoga. Meditate to become more present and mindful of yourself and your thoughts. Read that book you've been meaning to read all year. Take some time for a relaxing soak in a bath and then pamper your skin with a facial and some moisturizing creams. If your nails could use some TLC, break out the clippers and file and get them back into shape. Whatever you choose to do, focus on keeping it calm and relaxing.

You deserve a break. Frankly, you probably need it for your sanity too. You don't have to go on a trip to get your well-earned break and have some fun. You can have plenty of fun in your own home, where you'll be less at risk for contracting the coronavirus. Vacations may be out, but staycations are definitely in.
